In our Junior School, English (including listening, speaking, reading, writing and spelling) Mathematics, Art, Drama and Dance, General studies (Science, Studies of Society and Environment SOSE, Technology, Computers, Health and Social Education), Physical Education and Sport, Religious Education, Music and Mandarin Chinese are taught.
Group teaching, especially in English and Mathematics, occurs at all year levels. Groups are flexible and changes occur throughout the year as each student develops at her own rate.
Computers are used at all levels with interactive whiteboards installed in our Year 1 rooms and notebooks in Years 5 and 6.
Music tuition in the Junior School includes aural and visual comprehension of music through the experiences of singing, introduction to instruments and creative writing.
A comprehensive physical education programme is offered to all girls while interhouse and interschool sport is introduced from Year 4 on. Students in Years 4, 5 and 6 participate in a structured Outdoor Education Programme at the School's Eildon Camp
Resource teachers offer assistance in English and Mathematics as well as a full time Special Education teacher and two School Counsellors.
Reporting to parents takes place through two formal parent/teacher interviews each year, a progress report mid-year and a comprehensive written report which is issued at the end of Term Four.
