The Australian Mathematics Competition

Earlier in the year PEGS students sat for the Australian Mathematics Competition. The Australian Mathematics Competition is per capita the largest competition of its kind in the world. Prizes are awarded to students who are outstanding on an international level. Congratulations for their efforts and perseverance goes to the following students who received prizes.

The Australian Mathematical Olympiad Committee (AMOC). A special congratulation also goes to Aidan Dang (Year 8). He has been invited to be a member of this year’s AMOC Mathematics School of Excellence. He has been selected on the basis of an outstanding performance, for his age group, in recent 2008 AMOC Mathematics Contests.  He is one of twenty-five students, Australia-wide, to receive an invitation.
