Girls' Sports Open Day

On Sunday 13th April PEGS hosted their inaugural Girls’ Sports Open Day. This consisted of the present Firsts Girls’ teams taking on former students (Legends or POGS Penleigh Old Girls) at Soccer, Hockey, Basketball and Netball. The former students had an all-star cast, boasting at least three captains in each of the teams and several state league players. Many generations were also represented. The youngest legend left school in 2007 while the oldest legend left PEGS over twenty-four years ago. Age, however, was no barrier. The Legends played with great enthusiasm, skill and determination resulting in wins in Hockey (3-0), Netball (26-47) and Basketball (20-25), and a nil - nil draw in soccer.

It was a wonderful day and hopefully will be the start of a strong tradition for Girls’ Sports at Penleigh and Essendon Grammar.
