Music

Every day the hallways of the school’s state-of-the-art Music House are filled with the sounds of students learning, practising and mastering their instruments of choice. The school’s music programme is renowned for the wide range of opportunities it offers students, both in private tuition and in various ensembles. Beyond the pride students feel from learning an instrument, the music programme fosters engagement, creativity, artistry, perseverance and the joyful experience of playing alongside fellow students.

School ensembles include Stage Band, Percussion Ensemble, Infinity String Ensemble, Synthesizer Ensemble, Jazz Ensemble, McNab String Quartet, Gottliebsen House String Quartet, Senior Orchestra, Senior Concert Band, Guitar Ensemble, Infinity Vocal Ensemble, Chinese Orchestra, Senior Choir, Junior Choir, Junior School Recorder Consort (boys and girls), Junior School Recorder Ensemble (boys and girls), Junior Concert Band, Junior Orchestra, Junior Choir (boys and girls) and Junior String Quartet (boys and girls).

Drama

The school’s drama programme fosters an appreciation of theatre. Through workshops, rehearsals and performances, students have the chance not only to act, but also write and direct their own dramatic pieces. The technical side of stagecraft is also developed with opportunities to learn about lighting, stage design and backstage work.

Dance

The school’s dance programme allows students to develop and explore dance as an expressive art form through a variety of styles. Students take part in a range of workshops, rehearsals and performances throughout the year.

Musical

Skills learned in music, drama and dance combine in one of the school’s most popular activities: the musical. Productions give budding actors the chance to take part in large scale, high quality productions whether in the spotlight, as part of the chorus or in the backstage team.
